Programs

The Medina Children's Home has two programs:

  1. Children's Group Care: Children ages 5-17 live in a home with eight to ten other children along with houseparents. The primary goal of the houseparent is to make the setting as "family-like" as possible. Acceptance of children into this program is on the basis of need. There is an average of 60 children in Residential Group Care.

The highlights of the program include a structured environment, attention to academic progress, social skills, personal development, respect for authority, a proper attitude toward work, and lessons about God.

  2. Mother-Child Care: A unique long-term service which is offered to mothers with children who have no husband / father in their lives.
The purpose of this program is to keep families together by providing them with the basic necessities of life including housing, utilities, food, health care, etc... until such time that the family can obtain emotional stability and financial independence.

The mothers have an opportunity to continue their education, which enables them to become a productive part of society.
